Nitty Scott MC rocking our brown "Darwin's Rage" sweatshirt. Unexpected but still dope. Feels great to see someone you respect as an artist wear something you created. With all the success, she's still the nicest girl you'd ever meet. Dope track/video by Statik and Term. Looks like they had fun shooting it.

My friend Luke Wilson of Zero Media jumps of a 50ft cliff into a lake. Wearing an Origami-Bandits tshirt (Darwin's Rage Tshirt).
As a videographer, Luke's client list is quite impressive. Monster Energy, Gumball Rally, BBC TV, Microsoft (Forza), Namco (Ridge Racer) are just  a few. Check him out here.

Preview 03/19/2012

Been working overtime on this lookbook. Here's a sneak preview of a double page spread featuring one of my friends/model Victoria.

I had to dissappear for a few months while this site was being restructured and worked on. It's not quite perfect yet, but then again the quest for perfection is a never-ending race to a non existent finish line.

A safe place to start would be to recap the last few months:
Managed to get the long delayed photoshoot for the April photobook done in February (preview below)

Feb also saw Nitty Scott MC and her manager touch down in London fow a few days. She was performing in Oslo and they decided to stop over to see non other than yours truly. To say I was extremely flattered would be a massive understatement. While in London, we managed to get some shots for a music vid to a song from her yet unreleased album, thanks to Luke Wilson over at ZeroMedia. Also managed to shoot an interview and freestyle with KillerHipHopUK (photos to come soon).

Nitty Scott MC and I. Pretty cold day in London.

Have fun, don't take yourself too seriously, and remember in the words of one of my favorite hiphop artists, Joe Budden; "why try to fit in when you're a stand out?"

Infinite apologies on my 3 month absence (seriously, it's been that long? jeez). Back now though.

About 2 months ago (been that long?) i had the chance to work on some concept art for NY based Nitty Scott-MC (yes, her again. She's going to be featured a lot on here so get used to it). She had a pretty cool idea for the cover art for her freestyle track "FeminiNITTY", which pays homage to pioneering female HipHop mc's. In the end she decided on some dope photography and ended up using that as her track cover.

As such, i thought it'd be a good idea to liberate both cover art concepts to the web.

first time ever doing photomanipulation. She kind of liked this, but we just couldn't get the writing right.
PS: if you haven't heard the track, i suggest you do the google thing and find it.

The last few weeks have been a little insane. Being a solo artist/designer is not as easy as some think it is, especially without any kind of formal "training". Between having to work a 9-5 international marketing gig to fund this fall/winter release, i'm having to work on new artwork, search for models (impossible task), sort out finance/accounts/legal issues, etc which brings me to my next point.

I had originally thought of getting a pro photographer to take shots for my lookbook/catalogue, but then my business mind kicked in and sent that idea to wherever it is bad ideas go to die. After talking it through with my trusted few aka "The Bandits", i decided to get a dslr and do the shoots myself. It makes sense on so many levels. Firstly, i have ideas of what i want, and doing it myself is the best way to get results. Secondly, taking them myself means i get to keep the rights to the shots, which could (hopefully) be worth a few pieces down the line. Lastly, it just makes good business sense to take shots myself.

My new dslr; a Canon Eos 550D (18 MP beauty) cost me £590, which was a steal considering 1: it retails for £598, 2: i managed to get a polarizing filter and camera bag included, and 3: a photoshoot would have cost me £400. Now all i have to do is continue reading the online tips/tricks tutorial and buy an IR filter/star filter.

Fall/Winter designs are progressing well, still searching for models, and polishing up my photog skills. (shots below)

Unfortunately i've been so busy lately i haven't had time to post anything new. That and the fact Sky are taking forever to setup the internet connection in my new place.
Still trying to find a location for the limited release in september/october, and it's not going so well. I'm sure i'll get something in time for the event, just gotta keep looking.
In other news, i now have a day job. Yes, the artist now has a job. Was necessary considering i have to fund this release (which might have up to 60 limited pieces, skate decks etc). I take quite a lot of pride in having to work to fund this.....cuz it just means i've gotten to a stage where i need more money, thus we're growing slowly.

Started my "Hands" project this week with the 'Paris Noir' skate deck/tshirt graphic. Part of an extremely limited city pack which will include a T-Shirt and skate deck in every pack.. By limited i mean 1 for every city at the moment. Hand painted and signed of course.

I'll add 'Tokyo', 'New York', and 'London' over the next few weeks, in addition to settling on a lineup for my sept/oct release. More info to come soon.
